Project Background

Located in a frontier community, 75 miles from the nearest stoplight, Mountainview Medical Center (MMC) occupies a unique position in serving a wide range of individuals. Surrounded by sparsely populated ranchland and National Forest Service land, MMC operates as a critical access hospital and plays a vital role in the community by providing primary care, emergency services, and long-term care for the elderly. Facing the need to replace its aging 70-year-old facility, MMC embarked on a project to construct a new Critical Access Hospital. The goal was to enable a shift toward more outpatient-oriented care, expand local service offerings to retain more patients within the community, and improve operational efficiency.

Stroudwater Capital’s Role

Stroudwater Capital was introduced to Mountainview Medical Center through Lueschow Project Management, leading to a partnership aimed at supporting the project and securing capital financing. Stroudwater successfully guided MMC and key stakeholders through the USDA financing process, ultimately securing nearly $53 million in funding. SCP also facilitated the formation of strategic third-party partnerships, with Mountainview overseeing team development and leading the project to the critical milestones of securing capital and breaking ground.

Legacy

Upon completion of the new facility, Mountainview Medical Center will transition to a more outpatient-focused care model, replace its deteriorating 70-year-old hospital, and expand its services to better retain patients within the region. This project will enhance care delivery, increase efficiency, and more effectively serve the residents of White Sulphur Springs and the surrounding areas.
